Price Reduced! Scarlett, a Tayana 48, is a quality design built for unlimited offshore passagemaking and liveaboard. For over a decade the Tayana 48 center cockpit has been one of the most sought after medium displacement semi-custom designs. It is one of Bob Perry’s great performance cruising designs, and Ta Yang construction quality – among the world’s best, is evident throughout. An inspection will confirm why it took 3 to 4 times more hours to build Tayanas like Scarlett, as compared to the lighter production boats. Scarlett, a 2000 model, has benefited from professional maintenance and recent upgrades that include a new generator, upgraded electrics, watermaker, etc.
Her Selden keel stepped with Spartite, furling mast, genoa and staysail furling systems, two speed Lewmar 64 self-tailing primary winches with 48’s as secondary winches to assist, and Vetus bow thruster facilitate short-handed sailing and docking. The molded gray nonskid side deck and cabin top and white hull minimize maintenance. The Maxwell anchor windlass has dual direct foot switches and remote at the helm. |

The center cockpit design has proven itself the preferred choice for larger cruising yachts for over 40 years. Scarlett has custom cushions for the exterior cockpit. Perry’s Tayana 48 center cockpit interior arrangement, with large master and guest cabin each with an ensuite head and shower, a proper offshore passageway galley and spacious salon and an expansive navigation area is one of the best examples. The storage space is exceptional – Scarlett has added numerous stainless steel opening ports above factory specs as well as 5 well placed deck hatches provide light and ventilation. The varnished teak woodwork and teak cabin sole with light inlay are beautifully finished and all the systems professionally installed. |

Forward is the spacious guest cabin with a custom Handcraft latex folding V-berth mattress with excellent storage including 5-drawer dresser with sliding mirror, hanging locker with louvered doors. There are numerous additional cabinets, 3 stainless opening ports and large overhead deck hatch. A fan has been added to promote circulation together with its separately controlled A/C unit. |

Aft of the guest cabin to port with direct entry door from the forward cabin and second door to the salon. Separate stall shower, teak shower grate and seat, vanity with stainless steel sink and mirrored cabinets. A fan has been added to promote circulation when needed with an A/C outlet in the shower. |

Amidships is the comfortable salon with straight bench settee. An L-shaped dinette lies to port with a custom teak dinette table that has storage below. The port cushions pulls out to create a larger sea berth. Additional storage lockers are under and behind the settees with shelf lockers above and outboard of the settees. Again, a separate A/C unit is present to heat/cool the salon. Wall lights provided both port and starboard. |

The chart table is aft of the starboard settee. The L shaped configuration gives more work surface and doubles as a work desk. Control panels (flush mounted) include the inverter/charger, electrical breaker panel, Link 2000 battery monitor and generator control panel. Water and fuel indicators are present as well. A VHF radio, AM/FM radio, and exterior antennae for the Iridium radio are mounted at the nav table. The SEA panels (2) are mounted at the nav table. Battery levels are measured on the panels as are battery selectors. Below the table lie the breaker switch for the 48 power winch and the breaker switch for the windlass. The nav table together with the three drawers and two louvered cabinets below provide expansive storage for charts, equipment, etc. Two optional port lights are present with a fan for the navigator. |
