Description/Condition

"ALTAIR" is a truly unique yacht that was designed and built by an exceptionally knowledgeable seller to full USCG inspection vessel standards. Charter business available! USCG licensed to carry 27 passengers and Licenced commercial charter fishing boat. This may effect the sales tax when purchased.

This yacht is capable of world wide cruising in comfort and safety. The hull is constructed from MAG 10 steel with 1/4" underbody and 3/16" topsides and deck. The transverse frames are 3" x 3/8" hot forged mag 10 steel on 24" centers. The Longitudinal frames are 1½" notch inserts with 24 inch centers midship, and run full length of yacht reducing in width to the bow and stern. There is a 10" x ½" inner strike plate welded to the peak of the bow. There are also collision bulkheads at the forpeak and lazarette which are waterproof.

The deck layout allows easy movement in all areas. Wide walk-around, large afterdeck, and ample cockpit are well designed for safety. There are large stainless steel stanchions and teak caprail surrounding the yacht from the stern to the bow pulpit. All built to USCG requirements. All winches are located in the cockpit near the helm and allow one person to trim from the helm area. The hull is finished in LP paint, along with the deck which are coated with silica nonskid.

The interior hull is insulated with foam, and in the bilge areas has been coated with rimspay polyurethane which is the same materiel that modern car bumpers are constructed from. The amount of foam will keep the yacht floating, if the interior was totally flooded. The foam insulation also quiets the water sounds, and controls temperature effectively.

Powered by Perkins 4-236 diesel. Also, a 6.5 Kw Entec generator that is powered by a Kubota diesel, and 2 Kw Heart invertor. The yacht has been constructed in a manner that all machinery areas are easily accessed for service.

There are three exceptionally large staterooms, large head with stall shower and vanity and a very large galley. The navigation station is located mid-ship to port and is capable of holding a full size admiralty chart on top, and swings up for flat chart storage. The interior is handcrafted white birch solid planking with teak, removable cabin sole. The sole is constructed of teak grid with molded rubber non-skid inserts. Electronics included are a full compliment of B & G electronics and Raytheon radar, loran, Garmin 210 GPS, One Kenwood and one Icom SSB/Ham radio. There is a DVD player that goes to a large flat screed monitor along with the ability to drive a VCR player. Some of the additional equipment included are a 14' Zodiac hard bottom inflatable with 30 HP. 4 cycle outboard, new rubber tubes, electric davits, new rigging, Furlex furling and LP paint.

"ALTAIR" is constantly up-graded and maintained in cosmetically and mechanically excellent condition. This yacht is one that must be seen to be truly appreciated. The seller will be happy to meet with potential clients to review the many facets of this exceptional yacht.

Moving forward from the aft berths, there is a small hallway which passes the engine room and into the salon. The navigation station and galley are on the starboard side, and the settee/dinette are on the port side. The entrance to the large head is on the port side adjacent to the companionway stairs. It has a large stall shower, vanity, and vacuflush head. There is ample storage for cosmetic items, and towels, etc. There is a large, over 30 cubic foot freezer on the port side forward of the settee.

The galley has good counter space with a peninsular counter with exceptionally large double stainless steel sink with pressure water. There are cabinets above and various racks for storage of kitchen items. There is a large top load refrigeration box, estimated around 20 Cubic Feet, in the counter of the galley. Broker Comments
This boat requires seeing to believe. It is rated class 100A Ice breaker by the USCG. The hull and weld work is exceptionally fair, and this yacht represents well over the asking price and would be impossible to replace at today's costs.
