This graceful Valiant 47’ boasts the following racing record, with her owner always onboard and at the helm:

 AND….she has NEVER come in less than second in any shorthanded or single handed races.

 In 2008 the owner started a complete refinishing of this yacht, from the mast to the bottom of the waterline. She was painted with Awlgrip, new varnished poplar ceiling strips were added in the V-Berth and she was stripped of all deck gear, ports, hatches, cleats etc.  This TWO YEAR project was finished in June/July of 2010 and she looks AMAZING !!! The hull mold of the Valiant 47 is the SAME MOLD THAT the current VALIANT 50’s are laid up in. An anchor spirt has been added to the 47’s and they are now called the Valiant 50’. The May 2000 issue of Cruising Wor

Cruising proven, modified fin keel, full skeg supported rudder and rounded canoe stern. The hull is a one-piece unit, hand laid in a female mold with alternating layers of woven roving and chopped strand mat in premium quality resin throughout. Closed cell foam insulation is applied behind ceilings from below the waterline to the sheer to prevent condensation. ¾” length teak rub strakes with stainless steel oval strikers are fitted to both sides of the yacht. Single Sideband factory installed SSB Counterpoise in hull.

Topsides of “PARVENU” features a large unobstructed deck and cabin top. The deck is also built in a female mold and has a balsa core for strength and rigidity as well as improved thermal and acoustical insulation properties. This is substituted in high stress areas (winch bases, etc.) with solid fiberglass. Hull and deck are joined at the raised bulwark, topped with a varnished teak cap rail and mechanically and chemically bonded with stainless steel bolts and 5200 for a high strength, leak free joint. Safe & secure deck work is ensured with raised bulwarks, premium nonskid, full length cabin top handrails, double bow and stern rails and double lifelines. The roomy cockpit has contoured seats with deep coaming backrests, a comfortable helmsman’s seat, cavernous lockers under.

“PARVENU” is highly customized and styled with the heritage of the finest features found in the most sought after yachting accommodations; bright, well ventilated and finished in furniture quality teak. Custom built cabinetry and features throughout this magnificent yacht, far exceed the standard layout of this much sought after traditional side entry with Captain’s quarters in the port double quarter berth, with 2^nd separate head and stall shower. The VALIANT 47 is the Queen of Valiant’s line of performance bluewater cruising sailboats and was specifically designed to maximize safety, comfort and speed. Construction is reinforced fiberglass molding with 1/2:” interior foam insulation, incorporating a modified fin keel with external lead ballast and a skeg hung rudder. The entire boat, including all of the bondings, cockpit hatches, engine bed stringers and floor timbers is hand-laid with resin of the highest quality.

This beautiful boat sleeps up to eight people in accommodations with the V-Berth, dual main salon pullout berths and aft, Captains quarters with a 2^nd private head and stall shower. Like all Valiants, the main salon settees and the aft Captains quarters make excellent offshore sleeping quarters. The interior of the Valiant 47’ is dry and comfortable.
