MANUREVA II arrived into the Newport Rhode Island area May 23rd.  I sailed with the owner on this offshore 1500 NM passage in comfort, safety and speed as we averaged approximately 200 NM per day.  We departed the Virgin Islands with the Salty Dog Rally and arrived days ahead of all other vessels in the fleet.  Truly a comfortable ride we often saw 9 knots of boat speed in 15 knots of apparent wind on the beam.  We were loaded down with full water capacity of 210 gallons and almost 500 gallon of fuel (some in gerry cans) along with 5 heafty crew members and ample provisions.

Now asking $789,500. This is truly an exceptional value and the owner is very motivated to sell, so come forward with all reasonable offers.

IN  MAY 2012, THE OWNER AND I SAILED THE BOAT FROM TORTOLA TO THE CHESAPEAKE BAY EXPERIENCING A WIDE RANGE OF WEATHER.  WE DEPARTED BVI ON A BEAM REACH WITH WINDS OF 12-13 KTS APPARANT AND BOAT SPEED OF 9-10 KTS. AS THE WINDS DECREASED TO 8-10 KTS BOAT SPEED WAS AN AMAZING 7-7.5 KTS.  IT'S TRULY EXCEPTIONAL FOR A CATAMARAN OF THIS SIZE TO SAIL SO WELL IN LIGHT AIR.

AFTER A FEW DAYS OUT AVERAGING 200NM PER DAY, WE BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE SQUALLS ASSOCIATED WITH TROPICAL DEPRESSION ALBERTO, THE FIRST NAMED STORM OF THE SEASON.  AS WINDS INCREASED TO 40-50 KTS WE REEFED THE MAIN AND GENOA AND CONTINUED TO SAIL IN RELATIVE COMFORT GIVEN THE SEA STATE.  TOP BOAT SPEED THIS TRIP WAS 14 KTS.  IT'S ALWAYS EXCITING TO BE ONBOARD SUCH A SEAWORTHY VESSEL AND SEE HOW SHE PLOWS THRU SOME VERY ROUGH CONDITIONS.
