Description

With their timeless beauty and advanced construction, the W-46s are destined to quicken sailors' hearts for generations to come. Before the advent of theW-Class Racing Yachts, a one-design racing class of identical wooden yachts had not been built for more than fifty years. It is time for the unparalleled thrill and spectacle of big-boat one-design racing to set sail once more.

The hull shape is unmistakably stunning. Above the waterline it has gorgeous overhangs fore and aft. But lurking beneath the water is a sleek, modern underbody sculpted from cold-molded strips of wood laminated with epoxy. The keel is a fin with bulb and the spade rudder is of carbon fiber. Towering high above the teak is a strong, light-weight carbon-fiber rig.

Tradition and a respect for what is truly beautiful can be seen in the lines of the W-46, but she is designed for today. There is plenty of room for a sizable crew, but she can also be raced easily by just a few eager sailors. In cruising mode, she can be sailed by one or two couples - or even a single-hander.

3 boats have been built thus far to this design.  We would be happy to build one for you.
