  1. Formula 260 Bowrider

    San Diego, California

Formula makes a great boat.  I like cruising with the family, but also like to fish.  The photos show the boat in its fishing configuration.  I've made some modifications to this boat so the fishing gear goes on and comes off easy, keeping the sporty lines of the boat when just cruising around.  A seat back and bottom cusion remove with wing-nuts to allow the bait tank to drop in place.  Connect the water hose for the bait pump and it's done.  Pull a single pin to remove the rod holders on the sides and the rack on top.  Added underseat drawers for Plano 3600 boxes.  Comes with my Garmin 545 with Southern California map data as well as another chip for inland waters like Lake Mead, Lake Powell, etc.  A Garmin gas flow sensor is tied in to the GPS and gives you very accurate fuel usage and remaining fuel data.  (GFS10)  The tower is custom made by DBG here in San Diego.  I chose aluminum over stainless steel to keep it lighter and reduce the rolling heavier stainless steel would cause.  The tower does need to be repainted. DBG quoted me just under $500.  The trailer is a Magic Tilt aluminum and is in good shape.  The bunks were replaced a couple years ago as well as all new rotors, bearings, calipers and brake pads.  I've had this boat as far as Lake Tahoe, Lake Powell twice, and the river many times.  Mostly it has been used for fishing offshore and in Mexico.  To give you and idea of range, I've ventured to the south end of San Clemente Island, trolled for most of the day and made it back with 20-25 gallons of fuel remaining.  Easily will do round trips of 115 miles.  I've got two sets of props as well.  This boat originated in Lake Tahoe where the higher altitude reduces engine power.  They use 22P props up there and 26P at sea level.  The 26P props will get you 40-43 knots at sea level, where the 22P is in the high 30's.  If you like to ski or wakeboard, the 22P props give you awesome torque. I'll throw in my ski lines, tow lines, water skis, including a nice Connelly single, and such as I'm too old to be doing that stuff anymore!  I grew up on boats in San Diego and have taken great care of the engine.  It gets flushed with fresh water after EVERY trip as does every inch of the boat and trailer.  I'm the 2nd owner and have all the receipts.
