The Swan 80 has a steeply raked bow with a fine entry forward, opening out to a modest beam that is carried from amidships well aft. The modern form of the Swan 80's hull owes much to the development program initiated by the 48, 56, and 60 models, with features such as broad flat sections aft, a high performance bulb keel, and a state-of-the-art balanced spade rudder.
She has a carbon fiber mast that towers 32.3 metres (106 ft) above her deck. The mast is supported by four sets of aft swept spreaders with a full width chain plate base for the rigging. The Swan 80 mainsail sets almost 148 square metres - 1600 sq. ft. of sail area in a fully battened configuration, while her foretriangle sets a 110 percent overlapping headsail. The recessed headsail furler, single point hydraulically operated mainsheet, and super sleek carbon fiber - Nomex deck are a few of a host of innovative features.
The Swan 80 also has flush, custom built composite hatches, recessed tracks, a low profile coachroof, and hand-rubbed satin finish teak joinery work throughout her interior. Also, the hull has been designed to accommodate two sumptuous, practical layout configurations in a cruiser - racer style.
