PRYDE is a beautiful example of the cruiser that can also be raced.  The Lacoste 42 has the definitive Sparman and Stephens hallmark of performance, structural integrity, and aesthetic appeal.   S&S has combined their premium design and naval architecture capabilities with the engineering, tooling development, and production genius of Michel Dufour and the team at Chantiers Yachting France Group to create a classic sailing and performance cruising boat.  She appears very well built and offers shoal draft performance sailing of a 5' keel board up and 9'4" with the centerboard down.

PRYDE has had only two owners.  The current owner bought her in about 1991 and brought her to MA from CT.    PRYDE offers two private staterooms, two heads, a very large salon, forward facing navigation station, and large L-shaped galley that is located aft by the companionway.

PRYDE is well equipped with a full electronics suite including two Raymarine E 80 color chartplotters, autopilot, radar, vhf and ham radios, and sailing instruments.  In addition, she has two inverters,   heavy duty anchor windlass with two anchors, recent fully-battened mainsail with Dutchman flaking system, and perhaps most importantly, a Yanmar 56 hp four cylinder diesel was installed new in 2008.

There are many details that make PRYDE a great value but perhaps the most important is she has enjoyed devoted owners who have taken pride of ownership and maintained her well.    Call today for details and a chance to see this unique yacht and then start planning your cruise south.

Vessel Walk-through

Pryde features a Vee Berth forward with a woven tweed.  The berth has a white down style quilted cover.  There is a large hatch directly overhead for light and air. There is also a second smaller hatch just aft.  A seat is adjacent to the berth and just aft is a large hanging locker.  In the locker under the vee berth is a recent Raritan hot water heater.  This space also includes an en-suite head with manual marine toilet, sink vanity with hot and cold pressure water, shower, and shower grate.  En suite to the fwd cabin is a Private Head with manual Raritan marine toilet.   A head Y-valve allows for direct overboard discharge when offshore or into a holding tank when in harbor.  There is an overhead hatch and sink vanity with shower wand and teak shower grate.  The locker has mirrored sliding doors.

In the Main Salon there is a straight settee to stbd and a large U-shaped settee to port.  A beautiful two-leave table with removable fiddles is centered which will sit 6 or more for dinner or evening card games.  The settees are set up for lee cloths.   There are hatches in the salon and also a number of fixed windows in the cabin house side which also have curtains.  The hatches all have spring-loaded shades.  There is a tremendous amount of storage on this boat.  There is a flatscreen TV mounted on the shelf behind the stbd settee and with rabbit ears and a digital converter box a few stations come in and the dvd player plays movies.

There is a forward facing Navigation Station aft to stbd.   This has a dedicated barrel nav seat and large nav table with storage under.   A custom electrical breaker panel is located here as are some electrics including a chartplotter, VHF and HAM radios, stereo, and more.

The Galley is aft to port and open to the main salon and conveniently located adjacent to the companionway.    There are two round brushed stainless steel sinks (one with cutting board cover), a very large top-load refrigerator box with Adler Barbour refrigeration and a custom fan for cooling both compartments, a two burner Force 10 propane stove with oven and broiler, a Microwave oven, and once again, ample storage.

  • Adler Barbour refrigeration with switch to add water pump for added efficiency
  • Force 10 Stainless two-burner propane stove with oven and broiler - stove guard and pot retainers included
  • Kenmore microwave oven
  • Two round brushed stainless steel sinks - one has cutting board cover

A second Aft Head is to port and this features a manual marine toilet, sink and vanity, hot and cold pressure water, and a shower with shower grate.   Note there is no holding tank for this toilet so without modification, this toilet may not be used in harbor.

The Aft Stateroom is to stbd and this space has a large double berth.  There is a large hanging locker, locker with shelves, drawers, and binds.   Two opening portlights and an opening deck hatch provide light and air.
