When Lenny Rudow asks "Feeling Crazy?" in a headline, I immediately take a look. And here's what I found: the Flying Fish Hovercraft.
This thing is cool, though deeming it worthy of a "boat review" is a bit of a stretch. (Lenny says it's a boat because it has cleats.) And in the latest salvo from fisherman to sailor, he says we should be interested in this thing just because it uses wind. Doesn't he know that making your own wind is not usually recommended?
Unfortunately I already filled up the expensive toy line on my wish list with the aHqua2O Mini-Sub, another find of Lenny's during his recent European adventures. But since this the hovercraft is so much cheaper than the mini-sub, and also useful on dry land, I'm thinking I'll make it my new priority. And in order to justify it, here are 3 possible uses:
- Transporting the trash and recycling. It's a long way to the end of the driveway.
- Taking my nephews and nieces for a ride. I'd be the coolest aunt ever.
- Running errands in Newport. Way quicker than the bridge, and it will make all those people driving cars extremely jealous.
So maybe the next time I'm feeling really crazy, I'll go for a test drive. They're built in the UK, but available here through Hoverstream.
And in the meantime, I'll come up with some more possible uses to justify my purchase. Got an idea? Let me know in the comments below.
