BUCYRUS, Ohio — David Olson has joined the Sea Ray Group as president of Baja Marine, according to a press release from the company. Before joining Baja, Olson was general manager of Mercury Marine's Castings business. He joined Brunswick Corporation at Mercury Marine in 2000 and held a number of roles in strategy and business development. He managed the company's operations for sales of Mercury's castings capabilities to customers outside the company.

Olson held engineering positions at Ford and DaimlerChrysler before joining to Baja. He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and a master's degree in mechanical engineering and MBA from the University of Michigan. He has also completed programs in sales and marketing at the University of Chicago.

Rob Parmentier, who has served as president of Baja Marine since 2000, will expand his role as executive vice president for the Sea Ray Group, in which he will oversee Sea Ray and Baja's international sales and capitalize on global strategic opportunities. During his tenure at Baja Marine, the company has received industry accolades including honors from Powerboat Magazine and the NMMA CSI award for three consecutive years.
