Calling all boat-video documentarians! The folks here at Boats.com and their peers over at BoatTrader.com, two of the most powerful boats-for-sale websites, got together recently and cooked up a tremendous opportunity for you to make a memorable video that just might win you a brand-new Triton 16 Storm with a 20-hp Mercury and trailer.

The "Tap Into Summer" press release tells the whole story, and all I'll add to that is a challenge to all of you with access to an aluminum boat and a simple video camera to make a real memory as you participate in this event. Enlist family and friends, and come up with a script. What are your strengths: comedy or a drama? Will you set it on a hot August afternoon filled with action watersports or in the mists of a quiet early-morning fishing trip?

Videos must be short, only 30 to 45 seconds long, so you can save your feature-length cut for the Sundance Film Festival. Entries must be submitted by September 30, 2010 as per Tap Into Summer rules and eligibility. We'll then post the videos on our You Tube channel and ask viewers to vote for the best one. (Apologies to those outside the United States; eligibility for entry is restricted to U.S. residents only.)
