The Ferretti Group wants boat owners to know it is a company that’s ferociously focused on making new boats that are both cutting-edge and incredibly gorgeous. To throttle that point home, the Italian company brought five new models to the show, and those boats are among the true supermodels at FLIBs as each is sure to be ranked among the world’s finest and most fashionable craft.
Ferretti, it seems, is very passionate about product development. “We have launched eleven new models in the last three years,” said Ferretti’s Managing Director Ferruccio Rossi with a very wide grin. “We love boats. We are basically drunk on our products.”
Two of the new yachts Ferretti debuted at the Fort Lauderdale show were for its Pershing Line of high performance craft. The largest, a 108-footer, is a breakthrough for the brand as it’s the first time this yard has built a model with three engines. Standard power is a trio of MTU diesel engines coupled to Arneson surface drives. This propulsion package produces a top speed of 41 knots. For efficient and long-distance cruising, the 108 can operate at 11 knots and achieve a range of 1,070 nautical miles.
Also from Pershing is a 74 foot restyled version of the company’s popular 72. With an 18-foot beam, the boat has a sleeker and more aggressive profile than its predecessor and a number of very cool features. The sundeck, for instance, is fitted with an electro-hydraulic carbon fiber staircase that can be stowed away into the overhang.
The other three debuts are in the Riva line. The largest is the newly redesigned 75 Venere Super. In addition to a revamped interior that has larger windows and optimizes all usable space for more comfortable cruising, the 75 has a new flybridge with a hardtop and more lounging space than ever. We like the six-passenger lounge, which puts a whole lot of suave into a settee.
The Riva 63 Virtus is a brand-new model designed to take the concept of an open yacht to the next level of seaworthy sophistication. Two large sundecks (one at the bow another at the stern) create more than enough space for owners to entertain up to ten guests outdoors.
The third Riva model is the Iseo, a 27-foot runabout that showcases the classic, Mediterranean-inspired lines of a Riva.
In addition to these new models, the Ferretti Group had another 12 boats on display at FLIBs, for a total of 17.
