Nicholson Yachts, which is a sponsor here on CharterWave, tells me that it has just signed the brand-new, 104-foot Southern Ocean performance yacht Liara into its charter fleet.
Liara was designed by world-renowned sailboat guru Bill Dixon to combine luxury cruising with high performance under sail. I think the interior has a decidedly contemporary feel, based on the photographs that Nicholson released. Check out the main saloon for yourself:
The yacht can take six or seven guests in three cabins. The master has a queen-size bed plus a single bed. One guest cabin has a queen-size bed, and the other has single beds. Note that the dining table shown in the photograph above (in the far back) is designed to seat eight guests comfortably, so even if you pack seven guests aboard, you should all be able to fit around the table at once. That's not always the case on sailboats!
Liara will be available in the Caribbean this winter at a weekly base rate of $55,000. No rate increase is expected for Christmas week, when a lot of yachts in Liara's size range charge more.
I look forward to seeing Liara for a firsthand inspection at December's industry-only charter yacht show on Antigua. Until I post my own First Impression review for you here on CharterWave, any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Liara and her crew, or help you book a week onboard.
