Rybovich

If things continue to go well on the local-government level, the Rybovich megayacht marina and refit facility may gain use of waterfront property in a nearby town.

Rybovich’s current operations in West Palm Beach are renown among captains, crew, and owners looking for service work. It can accommodate seven yachts to 200 feet on land and an equal number up to 300 feet in the water. Its marina, meanwhile, has floating docks with 60 spots for yachts to 300 feet. Because of the growing number of super-size superyachts, Rybovich would like to have an extra deep-water facility for 250-foot-plus yachts.

The city marina and its adjacent property in Riviera Beach fit the bill. A report in the Palm Beach Post, which Rybovich posted to its Facebook page, states that the city council likes the concept and will work with its management team and a developer to renovate the facilities. Plans call for new restaurants, a market, a parking garage, a banquet hall, and a community boating center.

The city council still wants more details, and it may eventually put the plan before the public for commentary. But if it’s approved, Rybovich believes it can get megayacht-service operations underway by the end of this year. Overall, the full plan will be rolled out in phases through 2014.

I’ll continue to follow major developments.
