Accomodations

When you step below on Aurora, you can expect a spacious and well-planned interior layout with plenty of natural light, excellent ventilation, unmatched storage, strategically placed handholds for safety and high-quality finishes, such as teak joinery, durable stainless steel port lights and a beautiful teak and holly cabin sole. She’s easy to spend time aboard, has generous tankage, and her two stateroom/two head layout comfortably accommodates two couples or a total of seven people with the pull-out starboard settee. Aurora is exceptionally clean, and you will not be disappointed!

The forward Owner’s Stateroom spans the full width of the boat and has a very nice private head with a dedicated shower. The comfortable off-set Queen-size bed is accessible from both sides, so you don’t have to climb over your partner, and positioned diagonally off the starboard side. The bottom of the bed is hinged and easily lifts up, with the support of gas struts, to reveal large, two-level storage areas. There are shelves, cabinets, bureaus, drawers, a cedar lined hanging locker and a dressing seat.

The forward Owner’s Head is nicely sized and well-ventilated. It features a dedicated shower area with a folding door, a sink vanity with storage over and under, and linen drawers. The forepeak is accessible from the forward head.

The spacious Salon is open and bright. Two comfortable full-length settees run the length of the salon and flank a folding dining table, that hinges from its bulkhead storage rack to provide for either a large serving/dining area or a completely open salon. When folded down the table reveals integrated storage shelves for bottles and glassware. The L-shaped starboard settee pulls out to create a double berth. Thanks to strategically placed handholds; the salon is easy to navigate when underway. You will a find a tremendous amount of dry storage throughout the vessel, especially in the salon. Please see the following photos to get a feel for the available storage.

The Navigation Station is on the starboard side of the boat just forward of the galley. A full-size chart table lifts up for storage and an electric seat swings out for comfort. There is also a locker under the chart table and a dedicated chart drawer under the starboard settee. The primary electric distribution panel houses the Fusion stereo, VHF radio, Simrad NSS7 multi-function display and assorted electrical system gauges.

An efficient and secure Galley is essential when spending extended periods of time aboard a boat and the galley on the IP 420 meets the mark. Its U-shape design maximizes the amount of counter space and handholds make it a secure place to prepare meals while underway. The heavily-insulated refrigerator/freezer accommodates plenty of provisions, and there is an assortment of cabinets for storage. There is a double stainless steel sink, three-burner stove/oven, and built-in microwave.

The private aft Guest Stateroom, with direct access to the aft Guest Head, has a Pullman Queen-size berth, cedar lined hanging locker, bureau book shelf and good ventilation and natural light. The aft Guest Head is also accessed from the salon. It has a sink vanity with cabinets over and under, a wrap around shower with a curtain, and a teak fold down seat for use while showering. The Guest Head and Owner’s Head are both equipped with reliable, manual-drain pumps to discharge to the holding tank.
