Description

From 2016, ELK is a superb example of the sought-after Hallberg-Rassy 48 MkII. Still in her original ownership and professionally maintained, she is in excellent condition above and below decks. On deck, powered winches and a fully hydraulic rig make her easy to sail shorthanded. Below, she features a satin-varnished mahogany interior, three cabins, two WCs with separate showers, a spacious saloon, large navigation station, and aft linear galley. Ready for extended cruising, her inventory includes a generator, watermaker, air conditioning, heating, and washing machine.


Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”. 

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • White hull with blue trim lines. 
  • Integrated rubbing strake with brass strips. 
  • Hand lay-up GRP hull, insulated with Divinylcell closed cell PVC foam, except in the keel area and high load areas which has solid laminate
  • Steel beam moulded into the under floor reinforcements under the mast support for additional reinforcements.
  • Solid teak (glued) on deck, toe rail, coach roof, cockpit, and swim platform. 
  • Brass strips to all mooring cleats and entrance gates.
  • S/S inserts in toe rail for mounting custom made S/S and teak boarding steps.
  • 4 x Hull windows. 
  • Extra opening window over galley.
  • Davits (Simpson series 8, S175) with Dyneema line.
  • Zinc hull anode for extended protection of propellor.
  • Bronze thru hull fittings instead of standard brass.

 

Keel & Rudder:
