Description
one of the last built of this series. a solid ship that has proven itself and is ready for new journeys/adventures.
Rivals are known for their comfortable sailing characteristics on large waters. The deep cockpit and high cockpit coaming of the 36’ provide not only safety but also comfort, even on the IJsselmeer, the Wadden Sea, and sailing on the North Sea. The Rival 36 is an easy sailing and maneuvering ship, and you feel safe while sailing. Well-trimmed, the Rival 36 easily sails well above the hull speed of 7.5 knots.
Rival 36 ‘Beagle’ was built by Rival Bowman from Southampton according to high English yacht building standards and is certified with the
highest Lloyds certificate for yachts: +100A1.
The hull, deck, and superstructure have a double gel coat, the main bulkheads are cut from a single sheet of plywood 4 cm thick, and the surface is made of very thick laminate. The total weight is over 7,041 kg with a ballast share of 2,535 kg.
The interior is finished in blonde teak, lacquered in high gloss, and despite intensive use, the woodwork inside still looks almost new.
The characteristic keyhole gives the cabin its own appearance.
Although the Rivals were already equipped above average from the yard, the first owner and we have added even more, and no expenses were spared.
This Rival is equipped with extra equipment and features that are not present on an average sailing yacht, including; B&G navigation and hydraulic autopilot system; electric anchor winch and deck wash pump to clean the anchor and deck; solar panels mounted on a frame in combination with an inverter that charges 25% more power into the batteries; water maker that converts saltwater into drinking water; a shortwave transmitter/receiver with modem to receive and send grip files and emails in the middle of the sea; Aries wind vane; Avon dinghy with outboard motor; plenty of extra storage space and ‘last but not least’; …….. around the deck a stainless steel lifeline; this is a kind of life insurance while working on deck and while sailing. In short, an ideal ship and equipment also for longer sea voyages.
