I'm an owner wishing to sell my boat, how do I benefit from registering?
As an individual boat seller, you must register to list your boat on our site. One of the major benefits of registering is the ability to create, edit and remove boat listings for sale at any time. You will also benefit from the items listed above in the consumer section. See the Terms of Use section for more details.

I'm a dealer, how do I benefit from registering?
Dealers benefit in a number of ways by registering with The foremost way is by opening up your boat sales to thousands of prospective buyers.

  • List all the services and products your dealership offers. Consumers will be able to locate your business in our Marine Directory.
  • Create, edit and remove your pre-owned boat listing online. List all the details of your boats and add photos for a more realistic representation of your boat.
  • See how many times your listing has been viewed (the number of hits per listing).
  • Get a consolidated view of your entire account online at Boats Central.

What can I search for on the site?
You can search for many items of interest on, including boats and engines by make and brand, as well as for products, services and news articles.

What is the best way to search the site?
There are two search tools available on Global Search and Context Specific Search.

Global Search is helpful when searching for a general term that might appear anywhere on the site. It is located at the top right of every page, except on the home page where it is on the bottom right. You can select from a number of search parameters in the drop down, including Entire Site, Articles, News, Boat Listings, Calendar, Destinations, Engines, How to/Tips and Products. For example, a search for "bass" in the global search tool (if you select Entire Site) will search all text on the site.

Context Specific Search is useful when searching for something specific within an area. It is located in the body of the specific page, for example in the Boats for Sale or Boat Specs sections. A Context Specific Search allows you to specify more criteria than just one keyword, such as event type, date and region for Calendar-specific searches or keyword, region, month and year for News Archive searches.

You can find the login and log out links on the bottom of each page. Or you can simply click here.

What does "Enable auto log-in" mean on the login page?
Auto log-in uses a cookie to remember your login information. By enabling auto log-in, the system will "remember" your login information by storing a cookie on your computer, and you will be able to perform certain site functionality that might otherwise require you to login manually. Secure functions such as editing billing, account or log-in information would require a manual login even with auto log-in enabled. Note that auto log-in only works on the computer you were using when you activated it.

I forgot my username and/or password, what do I do?
To get your login information, please go to the login page and click on either Forgot your password? or Forgot your user name? Then, follow the instructions given. An email message containing the information you requested will be sent to the email address that you used to register.

Security takes every precaution to protect its users' information. Sensitive information is protected both online and offline.

When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our registration/billing information forms, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - Secure Socket Layer (SSL). While on a secure page, such as our order form, you will notice that the lock icon on the bottom of you web browser, such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, becomes locked.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything reasonably in our power to protect user information offline. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted to authorized users. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific task (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.
