On Labor Day Weekend 2019, Hurricane Dorian slammed into the Northern Bahamas as a deadly category 5 hurricane, tying the record for the strongest Atlantic hurricane ever to make landfall. The storm then stalled on its path directly over the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama. For two full days it pummeled the area with sustained winds of 185 MPH and gusts as high as 220 MPH.
Tragically, the hurricane leveled entire neighborhoods leaving an estimated 76,000 people homeless and in dire need of aid throughout the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama Island (Source: United Nations).
