The annual Newport International Boat Show (NIBS) kicked off today on the waterfront of historic downtown Newport Rhode Island, continuing the legacy of one of the largest and most prestigious boat shows in the country. The event will run from September 15th - 18th, 2022 and feature a spectacular display of shiny new sailboats and powerboats, some making their first-ever debut in the United States.

On the land side, boating enthusiasts will find hundreds of marine products, services and accessories to enhance their boating lifestyle while educational seminars, in-water boating courses and daily giveaways will keep attendees engaged and entertained.

Some of the boat brands and boat models we have an eye on this year come from builder's like MJM, Grady-White, Axopar and Blackfin, just to name a few. Below is a list of some of the hot boats generating the biggest buzz at this year's boat show:

  • MJM 4 - MJM Yachts will be announcing the world premiere of their new MJM 4 yacht which is a "next generation" 46-foot open day yacht featuring 4 social zones and a galley-up layout. Below deck the vessel features a large v-berth as well as a double berth amidships. With the protection of an indoor/outdoor pilothouse, innovative spacious layout and exceptional stability, this boat is all about style, comfort and fun.
  • Sabre 43 Salon Express - The new Sabre 43 Salon Express will make its debut at NIBS 2022. This builder has a long history of success with downeast style yachts between 40-45 feet. Designed as a direct replacement for the recently-retired Sabre 42 Salon Express, the new Sabre 43 draws appreciably from the best points of her older sister while incorporating significant technological innovations and answering some of the frequently noted needs of boats of this size. This blank-slate design preserves the spirit of her predecessors while representing an entirely new generation of Sabre yacht.
  • OKEAN 57’ SPORT Motor Yacht - Okean's newest vessel is a complete redesign of their popular 55' SPORT yacht and the builder has transformed this boat into a multifaceted yacht ideal for longer cruising trips in the open ocean. With a modern and stylish interior that consists of one stateroom and one head, she features a hull and deck with hydraulic hinged aft side combings that transform into side balconies with safety rails. Also featuring a hydraulic swim platform, a sliding door to access the lower deck and a galley with elegant Corian countertops and an overhang to the aft-deck, the 2023 OKEAN 57' Sport is a prime example of OKEAN's versatility, comfort and originality.
  • Palm Beach PB50 - While the PB50 was at last year's NIBS, this celebrated yacht was hailed as one of the ‘"Best New Powerboats" on making its US debut, and her return remains one of the highlights of the show. The PB50 is a contemporary classic and she's built on Palm Beach's proprietary V-Warp technology – a state-of-the-art combination of hull form, exotic materials and build philosophy. This delivers a unique combination of luxury and efficiency – excellent comfort and handling while using less fuel than many comparable motor yachts of her size.
