POLK CITY, Fla. — USA Water Ski has named Jamie Beauchesne of Rock Pond, N.H. and Natalie Hamrick of Tampa, Fla. as its Male and Female Athletes of the Month for April. The athletes will now be considered for the United States Olympic Committee's Male and Female Athlete of the Month awards.

Beauchesne, 24, started the year with two top-three finishes at the first two stops of the U.S. Pro Water Ski Tour and is in second place in the Men?s slalom points standings. Beauchesne placed third in the season-opening event, March 30 to April 1, in Orlando, Fla. with 2-1/2 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off. At the second stop, April 6-8, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Beauchesne placed second with four buoys at 39-1/2 off.

Hamrick, 22, is currently in second place on the pro tour's Women?s slalom points standings after top-five finishes in each of the tour's first two stops. Hamrick rounded 2-1/2 at 35 off in the final round to place fourth in Orlando. The following weekend in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,Hamrick scored 3-1/2 at 38 off, one buoy short of winner Emma Sheers, to place second.
