This is a very pretty, visually stunning boat with a family-friendly layout sitting over an extremely seaworthy, brawny NuV3 hull that is set up nicely to accommodate twin outboard engine power plants while delivering notable fuel efficiency.

Vessel Overview

The Dorado Series is Scout's dual console family of boats and they are a mix between pleasure runabout boats and fishing boats. Scout doesn't leave the fishing aspect of boating behind with the 235 Dorado design, but if you want to get social about it you can pull out the flip down bench seating and forward or aft facing passenger seating, flip up the dining table and enjoy some great day picnicking.

Performance And Power Packages

This boat gives passengers a smooth, stable ride in moderate chop with a high freeboard for added peace of mind. Her Carolina flare provides a dry ride, made even drier by a high-profile windshield with a stylish fiberglass arch that is far superior to a metal frame on some other vessels.

The Dorado 235 is available with a variety of power packages from both Mercury and Yamaha, from a standard Mercury 250XXL V8 with 250 HP up to an optional Yamaha F300USB with digital electronic controls and Yamaha integrated steering. Rigged with an optional Mercury Verado V8 AMS (300 HP) she tops out around 53 MPH with an optimal cruising speed of about 25 MPH.

Aft Deck And Fishing Features

On the fishing end of things back in the aft deck, she is equipped with rod holders and big livewell on the transom with a nice clear lid. The bilge on this Scout has a finished, fully-gasketed and gel-coated inside with a gas strut lid. There is easy access here to your baitwell pump and fuel filter which makes for hassle free maintenance. The stern of the vessel features a full-transom Esthec swim platform with boarding ladder for easy access to the water.

Dual Consoles And Head

Forward of the helm and main cockpit area are the dual consoles, one which houses a compartment with a full head and sink with a marine toilet. Again, the gorgeous windshield built of tough, solid fiberglass framework really sets this boat apart.

In The Bow

In the bow are comfortable, premium upholstered seats, rod and cup holders, LED lights and premium speakers integrated into the sides.

Overall Impression

Overall she has a roomy cockpit with some great features including an electronically powered aft-facing passenger seat the slides at the press of a button to convert from a flat lounger seat to an upright seat. This provides versatility and more deck space when needed. There is a head inside the console and good headroom inside as well.
