This Judel/Vrolijk & Co. design supposedly accommodates owners’ requirements without compromises. Racing sailors, for instance, can order a tuned-up version of the 38 directly from the yard. This performance package includes a deep T-shaped keel (2.3 m draft), a deck with higher-grade hardware, and a layout that is optimized for racing, plus a lighter interior. This sport version shaves about 400 kilos off the weight of the standard boat. Other options (offered individually or as part of the package) include a carbon fiber mast with rod rigging, and a more powerful sail plan.

Dehler 38

The Dehler 38 can be adapted for higher performance with different rig and keel configurations, and different accommodations plans.

Sailors who like performance without foregoing luxury and comfort can pick the standard version with a cozy interior that includes mahogany wood and a variety of combinations of materials and colors. The cabin layout is traditional, but is open to modification to suit individual desires, especially the head arrangement aft, which is completely partitioned into a lavatory and a head-shower compartment.

Hull and deck of the Dehler 38 are made of sandwich laminate and vinylester resin to guard against osmosis. It is also the first Dehler model that is entirely built at the new production facility in Greifswald. The price of the base version was set at 153,510 euros.
