Description
Oyster 46 Ketch Deck Saloon
The Oyster 46 Ketch is designed by Holman and Pye and produced by Oyster in the 1980’s is held in high regard by serious offshore cruisers. The ketch rigged configuration provides an easily handled rig for short handed cruising, keeping the boat well balanced in all conditions. Semi custom in their design no two versions of the class are identical with the original owners having tweaked the layout to suit their own personal requirements. This particular 46 has had an extensive amount of refit works to her exterior including a full hull & topsides respray and new running rigging in 2021 and anti Osmosis treatment in 2012. Even better is the fact she was re-engined with a brand new Yanmar 4JH, 80 HP engine in 2021 as well as a new Calorifier in 2020 and so is well equipped for many new adventures. However, her interior is now in need of updating & refurbishing, which once done, will make this an incredibly good boat with the looks and appeal that Oyster are renown for. This boat offers an amazing opportunity and is currently lying Southampton.

Brokers Comments
This Oyster 46 is certainly a striking looking boat from the outside. Having had a full hull & superstructure respray in 2021 and a new engine also in 2021, she has been partially prepared for long distance sailing and cruising and looks stunning as you draw up to her. Down below, whilst she is still very usable and is ready to go sailing, it is fair to say that her interior would benefit significantly from an update and refit. However, once done, this could offer an absolutely stunning boat with all the build quality and pedigree of Oyster Yachts, the name synonymous with luxury & style. With 7 berths spread over 4 cabins and 2 Heads, galley, Nav Station and large saloon this has the potential for proper Blue water Cruising or as a Liveaboard.
Oyster Yachts have long been known for building well constructed, solid boats and the 46 continues this theme. With the 46 Holman & Pye have managed to maximise the available living accommodation without compromise to the handling and performance of the rest of the yacht to produce a boat is highly respected. This particular Oyster 46 looks fantastic from the outside and benefits from having had a significant sum spent on her in the past few years. She now just needs someone to finish her refit to create what is likely to be an exceptional yacht. However, this doesn’t have to be done all at once and she is ready to be sailed and enjoyed as she is. She is currently lying Southampton and is available for viewings through Aspire Boat Sales.
