New to the market, highly specified ocean-ready 82 with flag blue hull, carbon cutter rig, carbon in-boom main, stunning cherry interior and loaded with extras. Darling received a major refit at Oyster Southampton 2013-2014 with new rigging, paint job, decks, and more. She is realistically priced and turnkey.

From any angle, the Oyster 82 looks refined and stylish. An exceptional sailing yacht, that will do 240-mile days on passage, the Oyster 82 is beautifully balanced and light on the helm with equally impressive light air performance, and is a fine example of what can be achieved by combining the naval architect’s art and the builder’s experience, a yacht that really does compare favorably with many larger vessels.

The 82’s split cockpit has a big yacht feel with twin wheels and a spacious, protected guest cockpit with large fitted tables for some serious ‘al fresco’ dining.

The upper saloon offers a direct line of sight outboard, providing a panoramic vista and direct access to the cockpit. The lower saloon incorporates seating and an entertainment area.

The Oyster 82 offers full standing headroom under the cockpit floor, with a centerline passageway leading aft to the owner’s stateroom and two guest cabins. This gives owners and their guests privacy from the galley and en suite crew accommodation, which are forward of the saloon.

The Oyster 82 offers a combination of comfort and performance, with an abundance of practical sea-going features that are the hallmark of the entire Oyster range.

UPPER SALOON                   
The high level saloon is extremely light and airy with eight windows providing an almost panoramic view to the exterior. Access from the cockpit is via a set of teak steps with teak and stainless steel handrails.
Featuring a four-sided wraparound settee to port with expandable rectangular Birdseye Maple table, with padded cover (new 2014) on a large pedestal base, to provide comfortable seating for six.
From this upper level occupants retain excellent visual contact with the outside world and benefit from a marvellous view out of the deck saloon windows, whilst remaining protected from outside weather conditions.
Two sets of steps lead from here to the passageway aft under the cockpit, or forward to the lower saloon area.

NAVIGATION AREA              
In upper level saloon to starboard the navigation area with forward facing chart table and swivel seat, is customised around the navigational equipment, which where possible, is flush-mounted in a dark grey Alcantara fascia.

ENGINE ROOM                     
Accessed via a door from the aft passageway, the large engine room provides access to all machinery. Built of fire retardant sound-insulation (re-covered in 2014). All additional access panels fitted with rubber sealing strips to minimize noise.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION                         
Historical Damage Disclosure – Oyster 82/03:
In 2013 Darling was stolen from her berth in Sausalito, California and subsequently run aground 20 miles south on the beach in Pacifica, California.
Following the incident, the vessel was shipped back to her original builder – Oyster Yachts in Southampton UK, where she underwent repairs.
At this time the owner took the opportunity to have an extensive refit and a number of significant upgrades.
