Crew comfort and safety, secured by ergonomically-designed layouts offer functional and elegant spaces for pleasant family cruising and makes for easy living, or to perform to the highest levels in IRC, ORC and PHRF class regattas.
Cockpit
Open and wide cockpit space, optimized by the self standing steering wheels and the location of the main traveler create and obstacle free cockpit featuring a transom bench that can easily convert from closed to open or be used as a boarding bridge. Four latches, two under the seats, and two under the wheels, where one is dedicated for life raft storage.
Construction and Safety
The hull and deck laminates are constructed using the latest vacuum infusion construction method (IBC) combined with tri-axial orientated woven fiberglass cloth. Sport elegance and innovation together with other high-tech resins and materials to give the boat a lighter and stronger hull. For further integrity assurance, the keel and rig system are bonded to a structural stainless steel grid that spreads the load evenly over a large area. This innovative grid construction integrity will give any skipper the confidence to take the Salona 44 across any ocean without fear of a failure.
Interior
Interior The Salona 44 boasts larger everything – from a larger than average fridge, to copious heads, large and comfortable seating arrangements to enable the entire crew to gather together. The port side L-shaped galley provides storage and worktops with strategically-placed grab rails to provide a perfect working environment to keep the crew well provisioned even in open waters.
Performance and Handling
The S44 can easily be sailed short-handed with family cruising in mind. Special attention has been paid to the development of the twin-steering wheel system which, combined with the allocation of the main traveller, simplifies your sailing. The overall feel of the boat is light and airy, the living accommodation is roomy and practical offering comfort, style and whatever kind of sailing you want to enjoy.
