Vessel History

#56 was built to spec for extended cruising for a family of four including two young children. Many of the choices and upgrades were informed by the couple’s previous extended cruise before having kids. She was delivered in September of 2016 at the Amel factory in La Rochelle, France. The boat was very fully optioned and then upgraded with a number of small improvements spec’d by the owner based on his experience as a full-time cruiser on their previous smaller vessel.

Shortly after taking delivery, the family crossed the Atlantic for a winter of Caribbean cruising. Summer of 2017 found the vessel cruising to the UK and then south via France, Spain and Portugal to spend the winter in the Canaries. A stop was made in La Rochelle for scheduled service as well as upgrades by the Amel team.

During the summer of 2018 she returned north to Atlantic Europe, before crossing to the Caribbean for the winter where she was based mostly in Antigua. In June 2019 she departed for a two week passage north via Bermuda to the McMichael docks, where the family concluded their 2.5 year cruise, unloaded personal effects from the vessel, had her detailed and put on the hard.

The 2nd owner purchased the boat in June of 2020 and spent two summers cruising Long Island Sound and servicing/upgrading the boat in preparation for an extended cruise to the Caribbean and beyond (see details of this work in opening section). In the fall of 2021, she had a leisurely cruise south via the Chesapeake to Charleston, South Carolina. A change in the owner's plans has made the brought the boat back onto the market.
