Description
Colvic Victor 40 sailing ketch 'Vencedor' is a proven bluewater cruiser, extensively upgraded and meticulously maintained for long-distance ocean voyaging. Built with the legendary strength that made these yachts favorites for circumnavigations and extended offshore passages, this vessel combines robust construction with comprehensive modern equipment.
Previous owners have successfully sailed her along the west coast of Africa and across the Atlantic, demonstrating her true offshore capability. The current owner purchased the yacht in 2022 and has enjoyed sailing her along the coasts of the UK. Genuine reason for sale presents an opportunity for a serious cruiser ready for extended voyaging.
Recent major upgrades include: complete standing rigging replacement (2018), new Kemp genoa (2018), professionally applied Coppercoat anti-fouling system with full hull preparation, rudder rebuild (2022), all windows and hatches re-sealed, new VHF DSC radio, solar panels, comprehensive LED lighting throughout, and new cabin flooring. The 50hp Beta Marine engine (2008) has only 1,900 hours and is kept fully serviced.
Vencedor is comprehensively equipped for offshore passages and extended cruising with energy independence (solar panels and wind generator), full navigation suite including GPS chart-plotter with AIS, radar, and autopilot, extensive ground tackle with electric windlass, complete sail inventory including storm sails and cruising chutes, and all essential safety equipment including liferaft (serviced 2022) and EPIRB.
The raised deck saloon provides excellent visibility and all-weather protection, with both interior and exterior helm positions. Three comfortable cabins and two heads provide practical accommodation for extended passages. Standing headroom of 1.8m (5'11") in saloon and galley - typical of serious offshore designs that prioritise low centre of gravity and seaworthiness over interior volume.
The yacht's solid GRP construction, ketch rig, proven passage-making history, and comprehensive equipment make her ready for serious offshore work. Colvic Victor 40s have an excellent reputation as strong, seaworthy yachts capable of Atlantic crossings and extended blue water voyaging.
Vencedor is currently based at Fleetwood Beacon Marina, near Blackpool (North West England). The yacht is available to view at any time by appointment (virtual tours/live video calls also welcome).
