Description

The deck barge Hollandia is ready to go and completely prepared for a new phase in its life. The current owner has lovingly and knowledgeably renovated the interior and it still needs some personal touches to make it a wonderful living-recreational ship. The previous owner invested significantly in the rigging and sails of the ship. Are you going to explore the waters with the Hollandia? Then be sure to come and take a look in Hardinxveld.

Layout

On the aft deck, there is a spacious cockpit with a good steering position, from where the ship can be well overseen. Here is also the entrance to the engine room.

From the cockpit, you have a large window and entrance to the former wheelhouse, which now features a comfortable corner sofa with a round table. From the sofa, you have a good connection to the outside through the wheelhouse windows. The whole area is very light finished. A step down leads to the spacious custom kitchen with plenty of storage space and a bench.

Further forward, you will find the bathroom, separate toilet, and 2 bedrooms. Throughout the ship, many fixed cabinets have been placed to make optimal use of all the space.

History

Commissioned by J. Droog from Ouderkerk aan de IJssel and built by the Speksnijder shipyard in Ouderkerk aan de IJssel in 1907. Measured on October 12, 1907, in Rotterdam, measurement number R3291N 58.092 tons.

On January 10, 1928, owner K.M. Hakkers from Werkendam added an outboard motor to the rudder, a two-cylinder Volvo Penta of 5 hp with brand mark 2858B Rott 1928.

On November 7, 1934, owner Johannes de Heer, a shopkeeper from Werkendam. On August 9, 1943, a new measurement took place in Rotterdam. R14180N Owner is then KM Hakkers from Werkendam, a timber merchant.

On May 26, 1948, from den Ende. On June 16, 1950, a subsequent measurement took place in Amsterdam A14179N. From that moment, it is registered as a motor yacht owned by MW van den Ende from The Hague. On July 26, 1958, Jan Bastiaans from Amsterdam.

On March 4, 1991, the ship was sold to H.T.M. Wijninga from Maarsenbroek. He has brought the ship back under sail. Since January 23, 2023, it has been owned by the current owner.

Technology

The ship has been significantly renovated by both the previous and current owners. The previous owner focused on the rigging and sails. The steel mast, boom, bowsprit, and legs have been installed. The wooden rudder, centerboards, and gaff are in reasonable condition. The sails and blocks appear to have never been used.

The current owner has focused on the interior. A thoughtful, skilled, and practical interior has been installed in the steel hull. The whole has resulted in a light, comfortable, and pleasant stay. The propulsion is provided by the DAF 575 with sufficient power. In the absence of shore power, the generator provides enough power for the household.

Sailing area

The ship is perfect for going out on the motor or sailing. Due to its compact dimensions and strong engine, it is ideal for exploring the inland waterways. If you still want to make a trip to the mudflats, the sails will ensure a comfortable crossing.

Given its dimensions and the historical hull, the Hollandia is welcome via the Schepencarrousel in various ports of the Netherlands. The ship can be navigated with a small boating license.
