Description
WELCOME ABOARD HOT SPOT ! Introduced back in 1972 and lasting over a decade in production, the Uniflite 42 is a rugged West Coast fisherman whose conservative profile is completely dated by today’s convertible standards. She was built on a solid glass hull with a wide beam and moderate transom deadrise. There were two interior layouts offered: The original plan has the galley and dinette at the lower level with a single stateroom forward, and later models have a two-stateroom interior with the galley down (no dinette) and a choice of one or two heads. A portside lower helm was a popular option. Topside, a tournament-style flybridge, with the helm aft rather than forward, was offered for East Coast markets. Additional features include wraparound salon windows, teak interior woodwork, wide side decks, and a cockpit transom door. Standard 350hp gas engines cruise at just 17 knots (about 24 knots wide open). Optional 310hp 6-71s cruise around 18–19 knots, and the more powerful 410hp 6-71 diesels cruise the Uniflite 42 at a solid 24 knots. Hot Spot was repowered in 2020 with Brand New Cummins 375 HP QSB 6.7 Marine Turbo Diesels w / 1600 Hours . Note that the standard fuel capacity increased to 500 gallons in 1977. With the optional 600-gallon fuel capacity, the Uniflite 42 has the ability to range far offshore. HOT SPOT IS SHOWN BY APPOINTMENT IN DANA POINT !
