Description
Classic 32-metre steel motor sailer, originally commissioned by the English Royal Family. SOUTHERN CROSS is a unique three-deck yacht offering exceptional volume, elegant classic lines and fully commercial certification (Group 1 Class H). She is licensed to carry up to 65 passengers underway and 80 guests alongside, making her an outstanding platform for events, hospitality and charter operations.
Built in Scotland in 1962, she was the largest steel auxiliary ketch constructed there for many years and was awarded the prestigious Lloyd’s Register “Yacht of the Year” trophy for best design and construction. Fully rebuilt and upgraded in an extensive refit during winter 2018/2019—including hull plating, tank refurbishment, and major deck works—she has been continually maintained to commercial standards.
Her interior layout includes a bright deck saloon, a spacious main lounge, an interior dining room for 10 guests, and a large semi-protected exterior dining area for 14. Accommodation for 10 guests is arranged in six cabins (4 double + 2 single), all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and audio/video systems. Crew quarters include two cabins and two bathrooms for 4–6 crew.
Exterior amenities include a sundeck, jacuzzi, exterior bar, extensive teak decks and generous lounging areas. A large industrial galley supports professional catering for events and charter operations.
Powered by twin Gardner 8L3B engines, SOUTHERN CROSS cruises efficiently at 9 knots with a range of 2,800 NM. She carries a full Bermuda ketch rig and is equipped with a comprehensive suite of navigation, communication and safety systems compliant with GMDSS for commercial operation.
A superb option for a business-oriented buyer, a classic yacht enthusiast, or an operator seeking a unique hospitality platform. SOUTHERN CROSS is a proven, iconic vessel with rare commercial capability in this size range.
