Born in 1984 under the direction of architect Philippe Briand, the Feeling 850 is actually a derivative of the Free Lance prototype, winner of the Half Ton Cup in 1983. While it retains the competitive performance of the latter, the 850 is ideal for cruising. Its layout confirms this: a double cabin at the stern, on the other side of the stairs, a bathroom, a chart table in front of the kitchen, a spacious U-shaped salon, and, right at the bow, a bunk. It is true that the overall design is quite sober (the interiors are made of elm), but this is due to the need to reduce weight. The large portholes provide good light to the entire salon. The only drawback is the ventilation, which is somewhat lacking: only the hatch of the forward cabin provides airflow through the stairs. On the outside, it has a fairly spacious cockpit with capacity for six people.
