The hull and deck employ vacuum infusion technology with a sandwich construction featuring multi axial rovings and Vinylester resin. The core material is 20mm Divinycell. All bulkheads are bonded to the hull and deck for added strength. Fitted with a powerful fractional rig, the Arcona 345 sports a tapered, twin spreader, keel-stepped mast and is prepped for spinnaker equipment. For strength and stability, the bulb keel is made of antimony hardened lead. The transom is open with an integral bathing platform. The large storage locker aft is accessible from two recessed hatches in the cockpit floor. Additional storage can be found in the aft end of the cockpit bench and a cockpit table is stowed in the starboard side locker. The cockpit coaming, aft deck and sole are in teak. The side deck can be specified either in teak or in Arcona’s iconic non-slip material. Mike’s vision to build a new classic styled model started to become more than just an idea back in early April 2020 when discussions and sketches between Mike and Arthur ( Nelson designer) soon resulted in drawings flying back and for in earnest. Those early days in lockdown provided a window of space and an uninterrupted time to reflect on what Mike really wanted to achieve from this latest design. Mike had already received unprecedented interest in both our Classic 35 and Classic 45 and there was an appetite out in the market for a beautifully built boat with classic styling but of a more manageable size than our iconic 45 and more accommodation than our 35. In reality, the 37 provides the 45 accommodation and wheelhouse, in a smaller boat, with the same acclaimed underwater semi displacement hull shape used on our DALE 40. All in all, a lot of boat with classic styling and pedigree for cruising with confidence, reassurance and security.
