Mike’s vision to build a new classic styled model started to become more than just an idea back in early April 2020 when discussions and sketches between Mike and Arthur ( Nelson designer) soon resulted in drawings flying back and for in earnest. Those early days in lockdown provided a window of space and an uninterrupted time to reflect on what Mike really wanted to achieve from this latest design. Mike had already received unprecedented interest in both our Classic 35 and Classic 45 and there was an appetite out in the market for a beautifully built boat with classic styling but of a more manageable size than our iconic 45 and more accommodation than our 35. In reality, the 37 provides the 45 accommodation and wheelhouse, in a smaller boat, with the same acclaimed underwater semi displacement hull shape used on our DALE 40. All in all, a lot of boat with classic styling and pedigree for cruising with confidence, reassurance and security.

This is the eagerly awaited, first aft cockpit model touching the 50-foot market that Contest has served so specifically well for many decades with centre cockpit yachts. And she arrives with a flourish as clients long appreciating the approach of the aft cockpit Contest 42CS now have a bigger sister to enjoy. The all-new model Contest 49CS is already in build and being a Contest extends new levels of comfort and reliability into the open aft cockpit sector. And looking to environmental considerations, options include an all-electric propulsion system, renewable energy sources and teak deck replacement. This completely new and innovative design also brings not only huge leisure areas both forward and aft of the neatly planned inboard twin helms stations, but down below unusually spacious mirrored twin aft cabins, plus large master suite forward. It is a new scale of interior plan, with a three-cabin arrangement perfect for safe, performance family sailing. It also brings the benefits of space for a tender garage as well as a submersible bathing platform.

The Arcona 385 continues to uphold Arcona’s strong heritage of innovation and design excellence, using the finest materials and best craftsmanship without compromising on superior performance through the water. The Arcona 385 is a quick, lightweight and easy-to-manage 11.28m/38foot performance cruiser. Her predecessor, the Arcona 380, was launched in 2013 and has won many racing accolades. The new exterior styling of the Arcona 385 provides increased natural light in the saloon and galley due to the new larger hull windows and new larger coachroof windows. There is also a larger instrument panel above the companionway to incorporate larger instruments for the helm. The Arcona 385 will have an open transom as standard as not only does it allow more light into the cabin, but it also provides even more accessible stowage in the lazarette – a clear refinement from the Arcona 380. The Arcona 385 reflects the quality expected from Swedish boat builders using the latest materials, advanced techniques and handpicked suppliers. Her lay-up, which incorporates a 20mm Divinycell foam core, employs the latest vacuum infusion technology. All bulkheads are bonded to the hull and deck for added strength. At the heart of the boat is the galvanised steel cradle, taking all the dynamic loads of rig, mast, and keel, ensuring that the boat is strong, stiff and responsive. The side decks are wide and the cockpit is spacious with plenty of room for crew, family and friends. There are twin carbon wheels and the cockpit table is recessed into the cockpit floor. Arcona yacht interiors feature consistently high-quality woodwork and practical storage designs in clever locations. The generous saloon has been carefully thought out for optimum entertaining purposes. Taking in the full 3.8m beam of the yacht, there is plenty of space around the saloon table and she has a spacious galley. Designed for fast passage with powerful, practical, deep-ocean cruising capability, the Contest 85CS is easily sailed, managed and maintained by short-handed crew, and perfectly set both to sail the world and enjoy sailing’s high society. This is our first step into the fully crewed 80+ foot sector and is made in design partnership with celebrated German naval architects judel/vrolijk & co, combining their performance design expertise with our proven, innovative construction practices completed with Lloyds’ plan approval and hull certification. The Contest 85CS will provide for both distance cruising and regatta participation as well as very social sailing, extending the potential for performance cruising of both new and upsizing owners with comfortable capacity for up to ten guests in a customisable interior arrangement.

The 18.5 metre Contest 59CS with styling from judel/vrolijk & co continues the refreshing modernity running through the evolving Contest line. In order and principle, she follows the popular and much praised Contest 57CS but is longer with near plumb bow and extended, broader stern. Interior levels are raised for direct eyeline and outlook through the panoramic windows, which sit below a smart, newly styled superstructure. The super graceful contours of this go hand in hand with the pacy performance that the new judel/vrolijk modelling brings, including optimised foils and lowered centres of gravity and effort, for both efficiency and sea-kindliness. This all connects with the way of our larger yachts, and continues through to the interior with similar superyacht theme to the furnishings and advanced engineering systems. Intended for friends and family operation, sailing systems and deck management are easily handled, and the varied three and four cabin arrangements enable very personal choice, including workshop and a crew cabin if that is wished.
