Developing the concept for a new project is, above all, a journey. It is an experience where the only limit is your imagination, on a quest for sensations, for materials, geometries and forms – to express the essence of a style that must be utterly unique, in every aspect. We have not settled for dreaming up an ingenious concept with state-of-the-art technical solutions, increasingly inspired interiors, and living spaces of unprecedented comfort. We pushed ahead, even further, in space and time. Until we were absolutely certain that we had found the new essence of Ferretti Yachts, the quintessence of wellbeing and style.

Designed for fast passage with powerful, practical, deep-ocean cruising capability, the Contest 85CS is easily sailed, managed and maintained by short-handed crew, and perfectly set both to sail the world and enjoy sailing’s high society. This is our first step into the fully crewed 80+ foot sector and is made in design partnership with celebrated German naval architects judel/vrolijk & co, combining their performance design expertise with our proven, innovative construction practices completed with Lloyds’ plan approval and hull certification. The Contest 85CS will provide for both distance cruising and regatta participation as well as very social sailing, extending the potential for performance cruising of both new and upsizing owners with comfortable capacity for up to ten guests in a customisable interior arrangement.

Mike’s vision to build a new classic styled model started to become more than just an idea back in early April 2020 when discussions and sketches between Mike and Arthur ( Nelson designer) soon resulted in drawings flying back and for in earnest. Those early days in lockdown provided a window of space and an uninterrupted time to reflect on what Mike really wanted to achieve from this latest design. Mike had already received unprecedented interest in both our Classic 35 and Classic 45 and there was an appetite out in the market for a beautifully built boat with classic styling but of a more manageable size than our iconic 45 and more accommodation than our 35. In reality, the 37 provides the 45 accommodation and wheelhouse, in a smaller boat, with the same acclaimed underwater semi displacement hull shape used on our DALE 40. All in all, a lot of boat with classic styling and pedigree for cruising with confidence, reassurance and security.

Full sporty Day Cruiser, large  sundeck, generous cockpit with folding side seats and a comfortable stern bench seat make the IDEA 80 the perfect boat for all uses at the sea. The DALE 28 was conceived to meet the needs of both new as well as long standing DALE clients who wanted to downsize whilst retaining the sea keeping and quality to which they were accustomed. A large socialising space in the wheelhouse and cockpit area as well as a cabin for two plus occasional berths for a further two were top of their list. Putting everything that is special about a DALE into 28 feet was a challenge that we just couldn’t resist. After achieving the hull design to give the sea-keeping and ease of handling expected of a DALE, our next aim was to use the architecture to create a boat with spacious accommodation for two, the comfort of full standing headroom, a large wheelhouse and cockpit for total enjoyment of cruising, living on board and socialising. We build each boat bespoke for you and just like any other DALE, there is a sense of discreet luxury and attention to detail. The Nelson inspired timeless styling tells others that this is a boat with solidity that is unsurpassed. Already confident that this gem of boat is set to be a winner she guarantees to open up endless possibilities of cruising and exploring. Easy to handle but with true sea going credentials, her ability to fulfil the aspirations of even the most experienced was undoubted, demonstrated brilliantly during her sea trials in four metre seas off the Pembrokeshire Coast and our first 28 owners who set off from Pembrokeshire to the Scillies and didn’t return for seven weeks!! A day cruiser for six or an overnighter for either two or four, she is sure to appeal to those who seek something special. Classically-styled with graceful lines, this genuinely stunning craft offers exceptional performance with more than a sprinkling of creature comforts. Every possible need has been taken into consideration to ensure that the accommodation on board is sufficiently spacious and comfortable. Side decks are wide and reassuring and the cockpit sole flows seamlessly into the wheelhouse for the ultimate experience in indoor-outdoor living. At her first showing at Southampton 2018, customers stepping aboard commented on the spaciousness, the generous accommodation not to mention the ‘gorgeous heads.’ The story continues with further refinements and beautiful interior fit out in solid oak. The forward cabin is a true master cabin with twin berths, easily converted to a double berth with a combined seating area, plus an abundance of craftsman built stowage lockers and an incorporated back rest to transform the cabin into a daytime lounge. In addition, adapted from the DALE Classic 45, the wheelhouse helm seat slides forward electrically at the push of a button for when in port creating a more spacious seating area which converts into an extra double berth. Bonded flush wheelhouse side and front windows with their style taken from our new Dale 40 gives a sleek and more modern finish to complement the classic style and twin engines with joystick manoeuvring deliver a top speed of 29 knots plus. We can’t wait to test her on the water, especially considering the similarity in hull shape to the DALE 23 but with softer sections.
