Developing the concept for a new project is, above all, a journey. We pushed ahead, even further, in space and time. Until we were absolutely certain that we had found the new essence of Ferretti Yachts, the quintessence of wellbeing and style.

The DALE 28 was conceived to meet the needs of both new as well as long standing DALE clients who wanted to downsize whilst retaining the sea keeping and quality to which they were accustomed. A large socialising space in the wheelhouse and cockpit area as well as a cabin for two plus occasional berths for a further two were top of their list. Putting everything that is special about a DALE into 28 feet was a challenge that we just couldn’t resist. After achieving the hull design to give the sea-keeping and ease of handling expected of a DALE, our next aim was to use the architecture to create a boat with spacious accommodation for two, the comfort of full standing headroom, a large wheelhouse and cockpit for total enjoyment of cruising, living on board and socialising. We build each boat bespoke for you and just like any other DALE, there is a sense of discreet luxury and attention to detail. The Nelson inspired timeless styling tells others that this is a boat with solidity that is unsurpassed. Easy to handle but with true sea going credentials, her ability to fulfil the aspirations of even the most experienced was undoubted, demonstrated brilliantly during her sea trials in four metre seas off the Pembrokeshire Coast and our first 28 owners who set off from Pembrokeshire to the Scillies and didn’t return for seven weeks!! A day cruiser for six or an overnighter for either two or four, she is sure to appeal to those who seek something special. The forward cabin is a true master cabin with twin berths, easily converted to a double berth with a combined seating area, plus an abundance of craftsman built stowage lockers and an incorporated back rest to transform the cabin into a daytime lounge. In addition, adapted from the DALE Classic 45, the wheelhouse helm seat slides forward electrically at the push of a button for when in port creating a more spacious seating area which converts into an extra double berth. Bonded flush wheelhouse side and front windows with their style taken from our new Dale 40 gives a sleek and more modern finish to complement the classic style and twin engines with joystick manoeuvring deliver a top speed of 29 knots plus. We can’t wait to test her on the water, especially considering the similarity in hull shape to the DALE 23 but with softer sections. In the Contest 49CS, our first twin aft-cabin yacht at this length, we have developed something new, different and yet reassuringly consistent with Contest credentials.
