The Besla 1100 is a fully electrically powered motor yacht, built in 2020 by Friesland Boating in Koudum. This ship was designed by Vripack from Sneek and is specifically developed for sustainable and quiet sailing on inland waters. With a length of 11 meters and a width of 4 meters, the Besla 1100 offers a spacious and comfortable living environment on board. The hull is made of steel and has a multi-chine shape, which contributes to the stability and sailing characteristics of the ship.
Design and construction

The electrical installation is controlled by three Victron Energy Multiplus devices, which display all relevant information about energy consumption and battery status via a computer screen.
Interior and comfort
The interior of the Besla 1100 is designed with comfort and functionality in mind. There are four fixed sleeping places, as well as a dining area, a kitchen with a stove and refrigerator, and a separate shower and toilet area. The toilet is electric and connected to a 150-liter waste water tank, preventing discharge into open water. The water tank has a capacity of 300 liters. For heating, a hot air system has been chosen, ensuring a pleasant indoor climate, even at lower outside temperatures.
Steering and sailing characteristics
The Besla 1100 features a dual steering position, both inside and outside, making it easier to sail in various weather conditions. The boat is equipped with a steering wheel and a dual rudder system, which contributes to its maneuverability. Thanks to the two motors, it is possible to turn the ship in place without using the electric bow thruster. The cruising speed is 9 km/h, with a maximum speed of 11 km/h. Navigation instruments such as a depth sounder, GPS, compass, and log/speedometer are present.

On deck, the Besla 1100 is equipped with a teak deck, bimini, cockpit tent, outdoor table, cushions, and a swimming ladder. For anchoring, there is an electric anchor winch with chain and line. The boat is equipped with standard safety features such as a lifebuoy, self-draining cockpit, and an electric bilge pump. The boat is registered with the Dutch Cadastre under number 39307B2021.
