We bought this boat used in January of 2018 from a family in Franklin Tennessee. They had bought it new. When we bought it, it had 60 hours on it. The owner was a local businessman and had almost no time to use it and when he did it was on nearby freshwater lakes. Shortly after we brought it down to Florida, one of us developed a very serious health condition which lasted a long time. Consequently, we have only driven it three times down here—once in freshwater Lake Tarpon and twice on the Gulf this spring. After both of the Gulf trips, the motor was thoroughly flushed. At this point, we are too old to use it. It has 68.8 hours. So it’s almost a new boat. Before using it down here, we had the gas removed and replaced with fresh non-ethanol, the oil changed and the boat thoroughly inspected by an experienced marine mechanic. He then accompanied us while we took the boat for a test ride on nearby freshwater Lake Tarpon. We can give you the mechanic’s information if you wish to speak to him about the boat. And of course, you are more than welcome to have it inspected by a mechanic of your choice. The trailer has only been in salt water twice and was rinsed after each use. It is in excellent shape. The boat has been covered by a heavy tarp on its trailer in our back yard. We took the factory top off and it has been stored—it is in great shape. There is removable carpeting for the boat which is also in great shape. We have never used the bimini top, but we are sure it is perfect. We upgraded the boat in several ways. First, we had a Garmin Echomap Plus map charter and depth gauge added (beside the factory one on the boat). We added a marine tent canopy to go over the full bow of the boat. It is a custom high quality canopy called “The Element” by marinecanopy.com. There is a cushion that goes between the front bow seats to make a large area to relax in under cover. There is a table to mount in the back seating area. We also added a port a potty (with its own carry bag) to the head, locked in place when using the boat and removable at the end of the ride. This is much more practical than having to pay a marina to pump it out. It has two new marine batteries that are on chargers. This is a gorgeous boat and everything works perfectly.
Original engine was replaced in 2018 with a remanufactured Mercury Plus Series 325HP 357 MAG Bravo 4 5.8L. INCLUDES TRAILER The Chaparral Signature 240 is a cabin cruiser intended for families. Equipped with an extended V-Plane running surface, the 240 is extremely dry riding and capable of handling bigger water than its centerline length would indicate. It is built with premium gelcoat, quad-radial lamination and AME resin. All of the hardware is stainless steel and the seats are made with 40-ounce expanded vinyl, including a double-wide helm seat that folds down to form an oversized sun lounge. The enclosed head has a shower and the galley is complete with alcohol stove and water pressure. Prior owner used on a lake, I used in the Gulf or Bay and used Salt Away with every engine flush. Amazing condition with a few broken, but replaceable, items as to be expected for her age (refrigerator not working, slider door is cracked though no water gets in..see second to last photo for the crack). Gel coat is in great condition, just needs to be waxed/polished. My kids are involved in sports so it's been harder and harder to take her out...unfortunately it's time to sell her! Serious buyers only.
