Description
The Randmeer is a medium-sized open sailboat designed by E.G. van de Stadt. It is actively raced as a one-design class. The boat was designed in the 1960s with the intention of use on the new Randmeren. It is therefore suitable for somewhat rougher water with shallow areas.
Within the Randmeer class, there are three versions: the Classic, the Advance, and the Touring. The Classic is, as the name suggests, the original design from 1964 of the Randmeer. The Classic has a centerboard keel, a combination of a not too deeply penetrating keel with a retractable daggerboard. The draft varies from 55 centimeters to 1.15 meters.
The difference between the Classic and the Advance lies in the raised cockpit floor of the Advance. Due to the raised floor, the cockpit is completely self-draining. Apart from the rudder, all the (visible) wood has also disappeared from the boat. The Advance has a centerboard keel just like the Classic.
