Description
The Sabre 28 is an attractive, well-built, well-finished boat. Despite her modern underbody, she is a conservative design, built in Maine, USA. This popular Sabre is an excellent pocket cruiser, ideal as a starter boat for a young family or a retirement boat for someone who wants to single-hand. The spacious interior, with fold-up table gives the feel of a boat much larger. With a V-berth, quarter berth and two full length settees she sleeps 5 comfortably. (The quarter berth also serves as excellent space for storage.) The deck is in good shape and is easy to move around. With a large cockpit this boat is comfortable under way. With her fin keel and spade rudder, she sails like a Sonar.
The Sabre 28, inducted into America Sailboat Hall of Fame in 2003, is neither an all-out racer, nor an all-out cruiser. She is an appropriate compromise boat, strong enough to cruise with confidence and fast enough not to frustrate. FELICITY continues to bring enjoyment to her owner as a weekend cruiser and daysailer.
Accommodations
Forward cabin offers 5’9” headroom and 6’3” double vee berth with filler piece.
Fixed cabin ports to port and starboard, and a large overhead opening hatch.
Storage is in 2 drawers and 2 flip-down cabinets below the berth, and along hull side shelves to port and starboard above berth.
Teak door for privacy between the forward cabin and head; a 2nd door provides privacy from the salon.
Fixed cabin ports and a cowl vent above offer natural light and ventilation.
To starboard is a single S/S sink with cabinet below and above.
Additional storage is in a hanging locker behind the head to port.
The main salon has a bulkhead mounted table that seats 4-6 and folds out of the way when not in use.
6’3” settees port and starboard; the port settee pulls out to sleep two.
A 6’3” quarter berth extends aft from the port salon settee, allowing for an extralong berth.
Headroom in main cabin is 6’.
Two long fixed ports to port and starboard let natural light in.
Storage in this cabin under the starboard settee, and on hull side shelves to port and starboard above the settees.
AM/FM/CD stereo with speakers in the main cabin.

GALLEY:
To starboard of the companionway for easy access from the cockpit.
A counter extension flips up for extra workspace. Storage is in 3 drawers, a flip down cabinet, and a regular cabinet below the stove area, and in-hull side slider cabinets and a hull side shelf above. An additional cabinet is below the sink, and a drawer is below the companionway.
