POLK CITY, Fla. — The American Barefoot Club has announced the selection of the U.S. Junior and Senior Barefoot Water Ski Teams. The teams will compete at the Junior and Senior Barefoot Water Ski World Championships, January 21-27, in Otaki, New Zealand.

Named to the Junior team were: Mikey Caruso of Delray Beach, Fla.; Colt Mahan of Westlake, Texas; Brandon Pye of Boca Raton, Fla.; Ashley Shewmaker of Oakley, Calif.; and Kevin Williamson of Spencer, Mass. Keith St. Onge of Brandon, Fla. will coach the team Brent Benoist of Land O' Lakes, Fla., will be its manager.

Named to the Senior team were: Andrea Eggert of Austin, Texas.; William Farrell of West Sacramento, Calif.; Sherri Morse of Redmond, Wash.; Billy Nichols of Ocala, Fla.; and Mike Salber of Winter Garden, Fla.

"Both teams have several members who competed in the previous Junior and Senior World Barefoot Water Ski Championships," said Tad Honsinger, president of ABC. "That experience will be very helpful in the success of the teams at this high level of competition."

The teams were selected by the ABC Team Selection Committee and ratified by the ABC board of directors. The committee selected the team after considering each individual's performances during the 2001 season, including scores from the Barefoot Water Ski National Championships, held last August in Fergus Falls, Minn. The ABC is a sport division of USA Water Ski.
