SEATTLE — Boats.com, the premier Internet information resource for the worldwide boating industry, today announced a major upgrade to its Website, integrating a fresh new look as well as a sophisticated, interactive Web platform designed to enhance the online experience for consumers looking for boats and boating information.

The new Boats.com Website incorporates the latest Endeca software, which permits users to define search criteria using clear-cut specific parameters to find exactly the right boat that meets individual preferences. Boats.com's sister Website, YachtWorld.com, was also recently upgraded with the Endeca technology.

"Our goal is to provide a better experience for visitors to the Boats.com site, leading inevitably to more qualified leads and sales for dealers and individuals listing boats for sale," said Ian Atkins, group general manager, Boats.com and YachtWorld.com.

Now, as a complement to relevant listings, search results generated from specific user criteria will also return related content such as boat reviews, information, news and articles about the queried models and similar boats. "The integrated navigation of both structured and unstructured content makes it easier and faster for consumers to browse the site and customize their search. This feature is particularly helpful for visitors who do not have a preconceived notion of what they want. It not only guides the search but improves the ways in which users browse through results," Atkins added.

Enhanced by an updated and streamlined design, the new platform provides an accessible, intuitive and enjoyable browsing experience for Boats.com visitors. "We've changed our logo, colours and user interface making it easier for consumers to find their dream boat," said Debra Keene Bergeron, general manager of Boats.com.

"In addition to the new search technology, we are also adding a wealth of useful editorial information for boating enthusiasts," said Bergeron. "We will feature a new section intended for individuals that are new to boating, offering tips for beginners and literature to help them determine the right boat to meet their needs. We will also continue adding new content during the coming months to retain our position of leadership as the number one Internet site for boats and boating."
