According to this post from the blog OhMiDog, a rescue vessel found Jaunita, a retreiver mix, aboard the yacht Tafadzwa, which had been adrift off the coast of New Zealand for over two weeks. Her owner disappeared overboard and is lost at sea.
Not to make light of a tragedy, but is someone taking Juanita in for questioning? Did her owner fall overboard or was there some ankle biting involved in a canine quest for freedom? We’ll probably never know.
