These weather seminars will be 2-hour, interactive classes that cover weather charts and how to use them whether you're planning a cruise or to maximize your speed around the racecourse. We will concentrate on how to use weather map data to help you make informed decisions. If you are interested in making your sailing safer, more enjoyable and/or more competitive, this weather class is designed to serve your interests!

First we'll get a brief overview of weather maps using a sample Commanders' Weather forecast. Then we will cover other weather information you can use to gain insight into the particular area in which you cruise/daysail or the circumstances that lie ahead during a competition. We'll study the weather, ocean-ography and expected conditions like those preparing for an America's Cup or 'round-the-world race do.

Bill Biewenga has sailed through most of the conditions you might experience on the race course or a cruise. Additionally, he has helped to guide others trying to accomplish a variety of projects in sailing. With a sailing resume that exceeds over 300,000 nautical miles and one of the original founding partners in Weather Window, Bill has been putting weather and sailing together for over 16 years. He will help you to understand how to verify the weather forecasts and use the information that is at your fingertips. Weather information is everywhere. He will help you understand how to sort the wheat from the chaff and use the weather to help you accomplish your own goals - whether that is racing or cruising... day sailing or taking off on a 'round the world speed record attempt.
