Indmar Catalyst System Patented
Cleaner inboards coming for 2007.
MILLINGTON, Tenn. — Indmar Products Company Inc. has been granted a design patent by the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office for the company's new ETX/CAT (Extreme Tuned Exhaust with Catalyst) with its unique manifold-mounted catalytic converter. The new was announced in a press release from the company.
A first for production marine gasoline inboard engines, the ETX/CAT catalyst system reportedly reduces harmful exhaust emissions to less than 5 grams hydrocarbons (HC) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) as now required by California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations. ETX/CAT also reduces poisonous carbon monoxide (CO) gases by 98 percent in all part throttle positions.
According to the press release, the ETX/CAT system significantly reduces harmful emissions with creating engine-power loss, thanks to its extreme tuned, header-like exhaust manifold design. In addition, the system reportedly offers up to a 10 percent increase in fuel efficiency.
All 2007 Indmar premium 5.7L engines feature ETX/CAT as standard equipment.
