Miami Boat Show Preview, Part II: More Must-See Goodies
There will be plenty of eye-catching offerings for go-fast boat lovers at this year's Miami Boat Show.
In the first installment of this two-part focus on what’s looking hot for the 2016 Miami International Boat Show in the high-performance segment, we covered iconic boatbuilder Cigarette Racing Team and go-fast power giant Mercury Racing. But there’s a lot more for performance-loving powerboat enthusiasts to see when the show opens. Here’s quick list of seven things you don’t want to miss.

To fully appreciate Outerlimits' new SL 50, you have to see it in person. Photo by Pete Boden/Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.
Outerlimits SL 50 V-bottom: Whether Outerlimits' latest exquisite 50-footer is at the company’s exhibit or at the Mercury Racing dock display—and that decision is pending at this point—it certainly won’t be hard to find. Just look for the Outerlimits name in giant white block letters on the boat’s massive hull sides. Framed in dark blue, those letters tend to stand out from a distance. Still, unless you took part in the Florida Powerboat Club’s Key West Poker Run last November you’ve only seen pictures of this beauty powered by twin Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines. And trust us, photos don’t even come close to doing it justice.
Active Thunder 29 Defiant and 33 Evolution: With the two models he plans to display in Miami, Active Thunder’s Patrick Haughey is proving exactly how adaptable he is to the marketplace. Powered by a Mercury Racing 565 engine, the first 29 Defiant is Haughey’s answer to the center-console trend, with lots of passenger space and utility. With his 33 Evolution powered by twin Mercury Marine 350 Verado outboard engines, Haughey is reviving a formerly popular power option—outboards on a closed-deck sportboat—but with the latest and most reliable engine technology.

Hustler’s 25 Talon could be a hot seller for sport catamaran buyers looking for a bargain.
Hustler 25 Talon: Hustler will have its usual array of high-quality V-bottoms in Miami, but take a bit of extra time to check out its 25 Talon catamaran. Built for many seasons of hassle-free fun, this 25-footer is everything an affordable sport catamaran should be.
Mystic Powerboats M4200: If you checked out the Mystic booth in Miami last year, you couldn’t miss the company’s first two luxury center-console prototypes. Since then, Mystic has made more than 40 ergonomic and stylistic changes to the 42-footer. Better still, the company has refined its fit-and-finish processes to ensure the highest level of quality. For those interested in taking a ride, Mystic will have two new-for-2016 M4200s at the docks.

Hardin Marine Seaward Exhaust and Electronic Actuators: While we don’t get specific on pricing on boats.com as a matter of policy, Hardin Marine's Scott Price is emphasizing “groundbreaking affordability” with his company’s new Seaward exhaust system, which will be front and center in Miami. And for those who are sick of running cables to actuators, the aftermarket products giant will showcase its new electronic actuators.
