A 300-watt motor powers the Power BodyBoard.

If you've ever body boarded on the ocean, you know how thrilling it can be, but if the waves aren't good, it's pretty pointless.

With the Power Bodyboard, however, conditions are never a problem, since a 300-watt brushless motor, not a wave, powers the board. This is also a plus for inland watersports enthusiasts, who, until now, didn't really have much use for a body board.

The award-winning (it was one of the National Marine Manufacturers Association's innovation award winners for 2004) board has a top speed of 7 mph and is easy to maneuver. The Power Bodyboard is controlled via an acceleration button you strap onto your palm — just apply pressure to the board with your palm and you're off.

Price is $400-$500.
