Hull and Deck Laminate: Fiberglass and epoxy resin laminates with carbon fiber reinforcements and variable density foam core vacuum bagged and post-cured at 80° C. Substantial laminate reinforcements in the hull bottom and mast area to accommodate loads from keel fin, mast and shrouds. Local laminate reinforcements at winches, rudder bearings and all highly loaded fittings. A500 Core-cell is used in the majority of the structure, replaced with higher strength A600 Core-cell in the hull at the keel framing area extending to the slamming areas forward. A800 Core-cell inserts used for high load fittings, with high compressive strength Penske board inserts under winches and halyard stoppers.

Keel, Mast and Longitudinal Frames (bunkfronts): Biaxial glass and epoxy vacuum laminates with carbon unidirectional fiber structural flange reinforcements. Single piece frame constructed in a female tool and bonded into the hull with SP Systems Spa-bond toughened epoxy adhesive.

Hull to Deck Bond: Reinforced laminate overlap at sheer radius bonded with SP Systems Spa-bond toughened epoxy adhesive.

Structural Bulkheads: Biaxial glass and epoxy vacuum laminates on PVC Core. Carbon fiber twill reinforcement laminate added on main structural bulkheads.

Non-structural Interior Components: Fiberglass cloth and epoxy vacuum laminates on PVC foam core.

Keel: For optimum upwind performance, the keel is a high aspect, mid-bulb fin design. The fin is built in high strength cast iron, and sheathed in fiberglass for precise foil shape and corrosion protection. Fin attachment is in an AC yacht style box for structural integrity and ease of attachment. Sleek 2800 lb lead bulb is fastened and faired to the fin.

Rudder: The rudder is large for upwind performance, maneuverability and control in any situation. The blade is a high aspect, high lift/drag ratio design, balanced for good "feel" without overpowering the driver. An incredibly strong carbon fiber and epoxy pre-preg stock is required for the high speeds when planing downwind. The blade is built with a carbon fiber vacuum laminate over foam core. Rudder bearings are JP3 Type 3 self-aligning bearings. Anodized aluminum rudder-head with composite tiller completes the steering system.

Deck Layout: An effective deck layout is uncomplicated, reliable and allows the crew to gain the most performance from the yacht. Ergonomics of cockpit design, winch size and placement, and control systems are designed to allow normal sized men and women to manage the yacht and sails.
