For the past several years, we've collected some of your favorite boat photos, as well as a few of our own, in a category we call Picture This. The library has grown to over 160 posts and covers quite a wide spectrum in boating: from the original Frankentrailer, to megayachts and superyachts, to A Tug Named Tommy Lee, to several classic collections of Sunrise and Sunset photos. So here's a Throwback Thursday tiptoe back through the archives, to remind you (and us) of a few favorites.

1. The Water Rat Boat

Shannon River punt the water rat boat

I spotted this punt along the Shannon River in Ireland, and it inspired a ramble about the Water Rat from Wind in the Willows.

2. Your Best Boating Photos

Russell Fennick sent this photo of him troll-sailing for salmon on his sailboat. (He managed to catch at least one.)

3. Instagrams of Quiberon

Our Digital Vagabond snapped some great pics of the waves off Quiberon, France.

4. Step Aboard a Flush Deck Lake Speedster

Okay, this one's from a pro... Sizzler sizzles on a lake in Idaho. Photo: Neil Rabinowitz

5.Puffer Fish in the Open Ocean

This little puffer was scooped up far from land - and he made our day.

There are many, many more in the Picture This archives, including all those great sunrise and sunset shots. And we're always looking for new photos, so if you have collected any this summer you want to share, send them along to [email protected]. Thanks!
