SEATTLE - Boats.com and the National Marine Manufacturers Association today announced the deadline for entries in the 2008 North American Marine Industry Web Awards competition has been extended to December 15, 2007.
Boats.com and NMMA have presented the Web Awards annually since 2004 to recognize companies whose Websites demonstrate the highest levels of creativity in design, ease of navigation and presentation of up-to-date, relevant content for the boating industry.

"We are extending the deadline two weeks to give companies additional time to complete their submissions and ensure the broadest possible representation from all sectors of the marine industry," said Debra Keene Bergeron, general manager of Boats.com and YachtWorld.com. "The Internet is rapidly becoming the preferred vehicle for generating qualified leads and driving sales of boats and accessories, and as the leading Web-based resource for the marine industry, we see these awards as a means of encouraging excellence and innovation in utilizing this valuable marketing tool effectively."

Awards will be presented in four categories: Best OEM/Manufacturer Site, Best Marine Equipment Site, Best Dealer/Broker Site and Best Marine Site Overall. A fifth award, Outstanding Contribution to the Online Marine Industry, will recognize an individual who has made a significant contribution to the development of the Internet in the boating industry.

The awards will be presented during a special ceremony at the 2008 Miami International Boat Show, which takes place February 14-18, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Winners will receive a trophy designed by world-renowned yacht designer Tony Castro.
